Opened after the pandemic, since May of 2022, the menu & the idea of bringing his cuisine to NYC is the brainchild of famed chef Orhan Yegan, who reinvented traditional Turkish cuisine, using local & imported ingredients & streamlined techniques. He mastered the art of creating a harmonious palette of flavors that brought the restaurant to the forefront of evolving Turkish fare. Now, the restaurant has its own butcher shop & market, which has raised the level of preparation & taste to a new level. The eatery has been completely redecorated with open doors that bring the outside in & even the new ceiling with soundproofing & inviting bar is very comforting & attractive. This bottomless treasure-chest of good tastes is usually available only if you travel directly to Turkey.
Now, you can have a true Mediterranean experience, once again, at the best of the best in NYC. This brilliant “foodie” well directed dining boutique with very affordable prices has been pleasing all since their recent arrival. The entrée menu is further augmented by artful specialties & each handsomely presented dish charmed our picky palates. Try specialties such as LAMB CHOPS (PIRZOLA), tender & bursting with flavor: HUNKAR BEGENDI, (Braised Lamb over smoked eggplant puree) & the perfectly textured LAMB SHANK. STUFFED CABBAGE hasn’t any equal & the GRILLED ATLANTIC SALMON, is another great choice.
What perfect setting for a surprise birthday or corporate party. Try BABAGANUSH, (Roasted eggplant) & WHITE BEAN & PILAKI (RED BEAN SALAD). Also try THE ROASTED LAMB ON RICE, JUMBO SHRIMP CASSEROLE & MOUSAKKA, OKRA STEVE cooked in a Casserole is luscious & the RED LENTIL SOUP & SHEPHERD’S SALAD are a favorite with vegetarians.
